It’s never too late to start over

We tend to say it quite often, don’t we? “It’s never too late to start over”, even if it sounds like a cliché, we, all 3 E (Elwira, Elias, Estia) can confirm that it is a true statement. Housefinders Peloponnese is moving from Nomitsi! (po polsku, på svenska).

never-late-start-over-housefinders-peloponneseWe wrote on the blog in December 2023 (link) about how we found our own place on earth and built our “Hestia” house where the three of us lived happily. Unfortunately, there are sometimes things that we cannot predict and that change what we have in mind. In January 2024, we knew that I could never drive a car again because of my vision problem. And living in our paradise with only one driver is a difficult task. So, yes, we thought about it but didn’t want to give up and move back to Sweden.

There were long talks, some tears, talks again with our children and grandchildren who, like us, loved Nomitsi’s magical views, the peace and the howling of jackals in the evenings, but we had to make a decision. We decided to sell the “Hestia” property, buy a plot closer to the community and build a new residence. I think the name “Epsilon” should match the new project, haha. Epsilon is both a letter of the Greek alphabet (we are three E) and a symbol with a specific use in mathematics, especially to represent a small, arbitrary positive quantity. Epsilon is also used in Microeconomics as a designation for price elasticity, haha.

We were lucky to find “Hestia’s” new owner quite quickly, and we hope they will be happy in the house and the village. And exactly as we talk to our customers, we ourselves were forced to be flexible. The budget we have is not enough to buy a plot with a 360 degree view and with walking distance to the sea and taverns. So, yes, this time the practical got to decide and the plot is not the “dream plot” but the location is still in our dream location: the magical Mani.

We bought a difficult plot (our budget had to be decided and we can see the sea from the roof terrace) but we had help from many friends to draw and design what we want and we think we will succeed this time too! At the time of writing, our citrus trees are growing in pots in our friends’ garden. We are renting a small house (with a much too small garden according to Estia) and waiting for the building permit to come into effect. Once Mani, always Mani! Follow up follows….
